I'm Julie McCarthy, a freelance designer & illustrator from Boston, MA.
Simply put, I love design in all its forms and am staying busy making a career out of it. From concept to creation, the process of design is something that lights me up every time - seeing ideas evolve from intangible thoughts into polished, professional pieces that have the power to launch a new business successfully into the world.
A solid, creatively-positioned brand is everything to a new business - and I love nothing more than bringing that brand to life. If you have a branding or visual identity project you'd like to discuss, please contact me and let's chat!
Additional design services I provide are:
Web design | Using a website building platform such as Squarespace or Wix, I can tailor templates to provide you with a fully customized and branded website that is often the first place people go to learn about you and your business.
Digital marketing | Web ads or banners, social media assets, infographics, e-books, etc.
Print-based marketing | Stationery, brochures, flyers, posters; you name it.
Custom illustrations | If you're in need of custom illustrations for editorial work, icons - anything really! - illustration is one of my favorite things to do.
I've been an artsy person all my life, drawing, painting, crafting constantly; but I ended up studying Psychology when I went to school at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Psychology still fascinates me and I believe it plays a huge role in design.
While working a full-time marketing job, I took night classes at the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University, and graduated in 2010. Since then I've been striving each day to up my design game and refine my process and skills constantly. I'm always up for trying something new, so if you have a project idea that might not fit into any of the service categories listed above, get in touch with me and let's talk about it.
When not working on my freelance business, I'm usually embarking on a new craft project, hiking the Blue Hills with my family, or buying houseplants.
